WGSCA gears up for Gujarati-7-A soccer tournament

HAMILTON: As many as 10 teams compete in a soccer tournament ‘Gujarati-7-A’, organised by Waikato Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association (WGSCA) at Discovery Park, followed by dinner at Te Rapa racecourse on 23 October.

The soccer tournament would be organised on the eve of 20th anniversary of WGSCA.

Of the 10 participating teams, six teams will be from Auckland, three teams from Waikato and one team have been invited from Sydney on a special invitation.

Giving this information to Indian Spokesman correspondent, WGSCA Spokesperson, Nick Rathod, says, “Our teams have been practicing for months and geared up to show their game on Sunday.  WGSCA have successfully organised two soccer tournaments in past in year 2005 and 2010 and are very much motivated about this upcoming tournament,” adds Rathod.

“Since supporters are always big motivation for players, so we appeal people to come to encourage the teams,” .
