MELBOURNE: Mystery shrouds the disappearance of Indian junior cricket team member Palwinder Singh Dhillon, who went missing from the new year’s scene of fireworks in the Melbourne city on the intervening night of December 31, 2016 and January 1, 2017.
The Indian Junior Cricket team which is currently touring Australia, has to return back on January 4. But, the sudden disappearance of 19 years-old Dhillon has left the teammates, accompanying officials and the tournament organisers, worried.
The team had reportedly gone to the Melbourne city to view the fireworks on the eve of new year’s celebrations. But, on returning to their place of stay in two groups, it was found that Dhillon was missing.
The accompanying officials have reported the matter to the police and has conveyed the occurrence to the parents of Dhillon in Punjab. The belongings of Dhillon including his passport, are lying Back in the hotel where the team was staying.
Whether Dhillon has fallen into some hate crime trap, or he has intentionally gone missing with the intention of ‘illegally’ staying back in Australia, is a matter of investigation.
