Ramleela stands out unique at GOPIO Hamilton Diwali Mela

HAMILTON: It was a unique Diwali celebration wherein, for the first time, Ramleela was performed by 15 members group of ‘Ayodha Shodh Sansthan’ from India at a special ‘Diwali Mela’.

The event was organised on the eve of Diwali by Global Organization for People of Indian Origin (Waikato) in collaboration with India NZ Global Women and Family Group, Kiri Kiri Roa and Bharti Vidya Bhawan at Hamilton City Council Reception lounge.

Salonee Kumar gave a stunning Bharatanatyam dance performance. Children in fancy dress, mini fashion show and cultural performances were also part of the event.

Suman Kapoor, International Coordinator Oceans, GOPIO, said, “We feel very blessed for organising sacred Ramleela play in Hamilton on the eve of Diwali,”.
