Indian man wanted to police for assaulting woman in store


BRISBANE: Police have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with inquires in relation to a sexual assault in Fortitude Valley on Thursday, February 16.

Preliminary inquiries indicate about 3.55pm a man has entered a retail store on Warner Street and spoken with the female staff member. The man has then sexually assaulted the staff member before being asked to leave the store.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for medical treatment.

The man is described as Indian in appearance with slim build, about 172cm tall, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red shirt and black jeans.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact police.
