Baljit Kaur Pannu declared as Labour party candidate from Hunua electorate

AUCKLAND: Baljit Kaur Pannu, a Punjabi woman , has been declared as the  Labour party candidate from Hunua electorate for forthcoming parliament election in September 2017

Baljit Pannu is currently Chairperson for Botany Electorate at New Zealand Labour Party

Hailing from a village Sidhwa (Ludhiana), a science graduate, Baljit moved to New Zealand in 2002. She currently works as a medical underwriter for an insurance company in New Zealand.

Baljit is associated with Labour party since 2013 when she joined the party as a volunteer. She was elected as party chairperson in 2016.

She was former candidate for Local Board Elections 2016 from Botany for New Zealand Labour Party.

While talking to Indian Spokesman, Baljit says, “It is overwhelming. A set of new challenges awaits me. I look forward for community support to make this successful. It’s also a moment of pride to have been selected as the candidate for labour party and I am grateful to them for trusting me for this,”
